STAR Results Underscore the Need to Fix California’s Education Accountability System
CBEE Partner Just for the Kids-California Compiles Six Years of STAR Data For Easy Comparison

SACRAMENTO, CA – California Business for Education Excellence (CBEE) president James Lanich, Ph.D., released the following statement today in response to the release of the 2007 STAR test results.

 “The STAR results released today are good news. Though it’s slow going, grade level proficiency is improving and that’s very important. Forward progress should never be discounted. “Now that we have six years of data, California has reached a historic point where schools can be identified in all corners of the state that are getting the job done in raising student academic achievement and closing achievement gaps.
